Zulus - Zulus

I discovered that band thanks to Julien from 5RosesPress.

To be honest, I wasn’t attracted by the artwork which looks better on that page, than printed on the cover.

Anyway, I just had to listen to the first seconds of Spear to love their music. It starts with a weird and fast bass-tom/hithat riff with cold-wave ambiences and some à la Daughters, Health, touches.

The vocals totally match with the music.

The big hit for me in that record is Blackout with a very catchy couple riff/rhythmic pattern. The vocals are perfect again : bravo !

Then you’ll have the terrific Tremolo which sweats the hardcore background of these musicians. The part at  0:50 is a killer. I really love how the drum riff is weird too (like in To Die In Spain).

A very good record !
